The parents seem FAR too patient, but they probably recognize that they have a kid with severe mental illness, and are trying to make the best of it for the sake of the grandkid. It’s not like the healthcare profession has a great track record of curing these conditions, so it’s nearly impossible to know which way to turn. The real tragedy is that these unbalanced people are able to procreate. That poor son of hers doesn’t stand a chance of having a normal life. ANYONE who contributes money to her is doing something EXTREMELY harmful to her son. Living with his grandparents is probably the ONLY glimpse of normalcy he has, and once she moves out, that’s over for him.
