Im an American who has worked and payed my dues my whole life. I now have heart faliure and for my remaining time i am using EBT. I have paid into it and am thankful. When i go to the store there is a sea of people who dont speak English, driving in in a $70,000 car, with 5 kids also using EBT. Its made for Americans who are struggling, not foreigners cheating and taking advantage.

If the government is going to start telling people what they can do with this benefit they have been paying for their entire working life they need to limit what you can get with social security. No more trips to the casino. Housing, medical and transportation. Too many people have worked their lives then had a medical condition that wiped them out. Now the money that was taken from them can only be used how the government sees fit??
One, you are not clear on what benefit she’s talking about. She’s talking about food stamps and welfare. Food stamps come in the form of funds deposited to an EBT card. It’s for food staples only, and not for bullshit. Could be that she tried to use it other than what it was intended for. Also, a lot of welfare benefits have been reduced. These folks are having to work for these funds now. Rightly so.
missie2000, really? EBT is not paid into for life…it comes from tax monies for those in need – not to be confused with steaks, lobsters tails, etc, while we buy chopmeat if we can afford it.
I have paid into SS for almost 80 years and I shall spend it as I need to. I earned that money by working hard. If I need it for medical, housing, etc., it is MINE! Not yours, not the government’s. LBJ dug his greedy fists into the pile of money sitting there that had been promised to retirees for working their entire lives. He had no right to touch it, but leave it to a thieving DEMONrat to steal anything and everything not nailed down. Which brings me to Brandon as a Senator who voted to TAX our SS! We paid tax on the money when we earned it, then Brandon pushed the law to tax it again. As I said, leave it to thieving DEMONrats.

You guys are misunderstanding her. I have seen it myself. People open up their wallets and have hundred dollars bills in it. They drive SUV better then hard working people like me. Full of tattoos that cost hundred of dollars and they use food share to buy groceries. I used to work at Wal-Mart and have witnessed this myself. A woman used snap for her groceries and paid for her sons new iPad with cash. Some people are buying huge packs of shrimp and large chunks of beef and pork which I would guess had to be special orders. They don’t but hamburger, chicken, or other food types that we can only afford. Yes, eliminate junk food like soda, candy, desserts and other unhealthy foods. Where they get the money from for expensive stuff should be investigated. If you can afford hundred dollar tattoos, you can afford to buy health food instead of riding the handicapped scooters because you are too fat to walk. Those carts are for those who have real health problem, not something they created.
