When we allow any crime to come into our country and be tolerated,, we send a signal to ALL criminals that we are weak puzzies and crime will escalate. Years ago it was called the “broken windows” theory. If you let someone break a window, unscathed, then the next thing they progress to is a door, and then a neck…. they ESCALATE because they recognize an easy path to getting what they want and never having to pay a price for it. We do it with babies. Start with teaching them what “No” means, for minor stuff, like glass ornaments, and then when we tell them”NO” in regard to touching a hot stove, they will comply. If they don’t we have a problem, and they have a trashed hand. But, that is too much like tough love, which works, as opposed to sending them an engraved invitation asking them nicely to stop committing crimes.
