I suppose she got elected the same way Newsome beat the recall–after voters collected way more signatures than needed to put that on the ballot and each time they scrutinized signatures like never before or since- certainly not for regular voting, and threw out the first 2 petitions for recall by disqualifying signatures. I guess they finally figured out it was not going to just go away and it had to go to the ballot…..and the voting machines.
