I teach middle school history, among other things. Can’t wait until Mamdani has to manage the financial capital/tourist capital/ an historic, iconic city of the WORLD, esp after how he professes he’s going to do it. Have “been there, done that” w/middle school precepts of the world, until I did some hands-on lessons w/feudalism, socialism, dictatorships. They left my classes understanding how feudalism was replaced with an eventual republicanism…socialism always failed..esp in my classroom, & dictatorships were immediately & roundly rejected. IMHO, this 30-something “Democratic Socialist” evinces a middle school level of understanding of the successful governance of a free people. Maybe the people who voted for him are on this same middle school academic/ emotional/social level?

Well especially in your last statement, from what I’ve read there are quite a few H.S. graduates who can barely do simple math and have trouble treading their diploma. That may be a little exaggerated, but America’s schooling isn’t good.
