Where does she work, where she can wear shorts and flip-flops? Unless she changes to a uniform. First, “pedestrian” I saw as she proceeded down the street was a father, and a baby carriage. Barefoot is the only restriction I know of. She had to get to work (Starbucks), but now she doesn’t have a job period.
She could have called her work and explained the “circumstances” and they could have either given her the day off or they could have come and picked her up somewhere that she could have walked to. She could have enjoyed some of the festivities along the way. Or she could have stayed where she was and called her mom like she was begging to.
